Born in Glenelg I started drawing from an early age. For some reason I preferred black and white renderings and rarely dabbled in colour. When I left school I worked and travelled until finally the urge to study art hit me.
I tried commercial, graphic, interior design and even garden design, but finally found an opportunity to learn to paint, a skill which had eluded me for all those early years. Working with a group at Splashout Studios Marino, I gained the confidence to experiment and work with colour at last.
Over the last two years I have exhibited twice at the Victor Harbour Rotary Art Show and three times in SALA. My work has also been displayed at the Bridgewater Hotel, The Mockingbird Lounge at Glenelg, the Wine and Roses Show at Mylor, the SALT exhibition at the Adelaide Beach Sailing Club, Stump Hill Gallery McLaren Vale and the Royal Adelaide Show.
Although predominantly a painter in oils and acrylic I have also dabbled in water colours, mosaics, etching, printing and sculpture. |
