42 Years later and a myriad of one man and group showings in South Australia and interstate his passion for art remains.
Vitas brings visions to life on canvas or masonite, using acrylics applied in several layers, every layer being texturized and scratched to add depth.
Each work is a new opportunity for him to experiment and improvise.
Strong compositional elements are vital and always evident.
Vitas’ use of gold and silver leaf and strong symbols and delicate calligraphic asemic writing add mystery to each work. Recent works have featured Australian birds situated in evocative abstract backgrounds. |
